Gaziantep

Gaziantep (Kiosmani Kituruki; Ayintap), jina la zamani na hadi leo linatumika kufupisha kama; Antep) ni jina la kutaja mji mkuu wa Jimbo la Gaziantep nchini Uturuki. Mji huu unatazamika kama moja kati ya miji ya kale duniani ambayo hadi leo bado inakaliwa.

Mji huu unavituo viwili vya utawala wa wilaya zake, Şahinbey na Şehitkamil, na una kaliwa na wakazi wapatao 1,237,874[1] (2007) na una kilomita za mraba zipatazo 2,138.[2]

Jina la mji

Mji ulikuwa ukijulikana na Wagiriki wa Kale na Waroma kama Doliche au Dolichenus (Kituruki: Dülük). Waarabu, Waseljuk, Waosma walilijua kama ʿAintab au Aïntab, ambalo linatokana na Kiarabu Ayn (chemchem) na tab (nzuri).
